Secondary Succession- occurs on land that has had previous growth

Primary
This picture shows primary succession in my biome, the temperate forest. First pioneer species, like lichens, would be added with the rocks in the area. Then perennial plants, like poison ivy, would add on to the lichens and rocks. Introductory trees, like Ash trees, would then form. Finally, secondary trees, like oak trees, would arrive and the area will contain all of these species.
Secondary
In this picture life was already present, but then a forest fire happened. The trees were burned, but life remained. The same process would occur as primary succession, but much faster.
